If you want to uplevel your style and get onboard with power dressing then suits are the way to go! There was a time when suits were just for those who worked in offices or for attending job interviews and formal events. Now, a suit can be worn as everyday wear as easily as jeans or leggings. Here are 6 suit trends that prove how versatile the power suit can be.

Power Dressing: 6 Suit Trends for Every Occasion

For years suits had the reputation of being that wardrobe staple that you could just pull out and where when the occasion suited. Often they were ill-fitting and few enjoyed wearing them but the important thing was that you had one! A suit is often defined as the most formal item of clothing one can own, ideal for weddings, job interviews and even funerals. True, a suit will make you look smart but it’s also blatantly obvious when dressing up seems forced. Thankfully, suit styles have dramatically improved over the years and now they’re perfectly acceptable for everyday wear too. Allow me to show you 6 fashionable suit trends that you’ll actually want to wear!

Pastel suits

Pastels are the ultimate shade for spring and summer. They’re also a much more subtle variation of bold, block colour suits. A lot of people like the idea of wearing pastel shades but are unsure how to style these soft tones. If this is the case, a two-piece set such as a suit is a fantastic, fuss-free solution.

Check suits

The check suit is one of the more classic options. The idea of checked suits often accompanies the image of elbow pads and unflattering tweed fabrics in our minds.

Block colour suits

Who can forget the iconic block colour suits of the 90s? Thanks to the evolving world of fashion trends, bold, block colour suits are back on trend. That means that you no longer have to hunt  through thrift stores to find a vintage piece – unless of course you want to! There are so many colours to choose from and you can even mix and match your blazers and trousers.

Short suit sets

Short sets are just as stylish and look fabulous with a pair of striking heels. Although suits are not strictly reserved for office time and board meetings, it’s good to know that there are great alternatives available for when the weather is warmer.

Pattern and Print Suits

Suits with glitter detail or patterns and prints revolutionised the way we see suits. Patterns and prints add a bright, youthful element to the standard suit, which made them more appealing to a broader audience. These are perfect for wearing with jeans for a smart casual look or worn over a dress for parties and evenings out.

Black and White suits

Black and white suits are super versatile because almost everyone requires a pair of black trousers and a black or white blazer at some point in their life. Worn together or as separate pieces, a monochrome suit is a sophisticated wardrobe staple.
